Learn to make clay objects in a relaxed and intimate studio. Classes give an introduction to hand building fundamentals while supporting your creative development. Workshops focus on one theme and open your eyes to the possibilities of creating more.


Clay Classes

Explore making pottery and sculptural forms through hand building techniques and processes. The class will teach the foundation of building forms from clay using coiling and slab construction methods, texture and surface design and glazing. Students are encouraged to explore different methods and to create unique and original forms.150 min class, Duration of 6 classes.

Open Studio

Sign up for a 3 hour time slot for full use of the studio to make your own work. Participants must have 2 sessions of Clay Studio or the equivalent experience.

  • Tuesdays 1 – 4pm
  • Fridays 9am – 12pm

Price structure: $14 per hour per person + HST and Material Fee = $30 per bag of clay 

 

Workshops

Workshops are structured over 2 days, no experience necessary. Workshops include materials and firing.

2 Day Workshop: 2 Weekend afternoons 1:00 - 4pm

Art of the Small Dish

You don’t have to be a master illustrator to come up with effective and fun images. Easy to make small, functional dishes allow you to concentrate on surface designs using stencils, textures and underglazes.

Beads and Things 

Enjoy the art of making small things, whether it’s a richly carved bead for a friend, one of a kind buttons or a set of napkin rings for the table. Beautiful details are small gems of experience and giving.

Whether your vase is for one flower or a bouquet, making it out of this Queen of clays adds an elevated richness and durability.

Tile Mosaic

4 consultations to make a summer long project out of tile mosaic: 1. Scoping your project and organizing materials, 2. Transfering drawings onto board and getting started, 3. Work in progress tile mosaic, 4. Grouting and Sealer.
